The African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) in partnership with TerrAfrica and other partners convened the 1st Africa Congress on Conservation Agriculture (IACCA) in Lusaka, Zambia, from March 18 to 21, 2014. The Congress was held under the theme “Conservation Agriculture (CA): Building entrepreneurship and resilient farming systems”. 414 delegates from 42 African states and other stakeholders from around the world shared experiences and drew a road map to unlock hindrances to expanding and scaling-up adoption of CA. Smallholder farming systems and related industry in Africa were a focus of the declaration.
